Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art

Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art

The mission of the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art (DDFIA) is to promote the study and understanding of Islamic arts and cultures.

Created in 1998 by order of Doris Duke’s will, DDFIA is an operating foundation of the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation (DDCF). Shangri La Museum of Art, Culture & Design and the Building Bridges Program are both funded and operated through DDFIA. While the Building Bridges Program and Shangri La have related missions, sometimes collaborate and share the same board of trustees as well as president and CEO, they consist of two separate teams in different locations.
